'Veronica Mars' Movie Gets Release Date After Huge Kickstarter Effort

The Veronica Mars movie will arrive in theaters on March 14 — a year and a day after creator Rob Thomas launched a campaign on crowdfunding website Kickstarter to raise $2 million.
The online fundraising effort eventually raised $5.7 million thanks to 91,585 donors, and now fans of the mid-2000s television series about a teen detective will get to see its star, Kristen Bell, on the big screen in 2014. Movie studio Warner Bros. will release the film.
"In the movie, Veronica returns to her hometown of Neptune, Calif., after 10 years away to aid former flame Logan (Jason Dohring), who has been accused of killing his pop star girlfriend," reports EW.com, which exclusively announced the premiere date.
