Tash and Dev Offer 7 Ways to Style Your Swimwear
“Growing up in Hawaii and Sydney, you don’t save to buy a pair of high heels or a handbag, you save for bikinis,” says Natasha Oakley, co-creator of A Bikini A Day and Monday Swimwear. From their humble beginnings of daily instagram pictures in swimsuits they personally owned, to the creation of a complete beachwear collection composed of tropic greens and shades reminiscent of a vacation in Tulum, Natasha and Devin Brugman are true beach beauty and fashion inspirations. Here they give us the inside-scoop on a how they style their swimwear and, of course, their beauty indulgences.
For a Shopping Trip
“This is a great look for going from the beach to shopping,” says Devin.
SUIT:
“[This is] the Bahamas One Piece in Black,” says Devin. “There are no
cups, but there is built in support and the fabric is also extremely
buttery and soft, so it just feels really good when you have it on.”
SHORTS: One Teaspoon
HAT:
“[This is] a cute hat we just picked up from Greece,” says Devin. “A
sun hat is not only a great way to make an outfit look chic, but to give
you protection when you’re having a long day in the sun.”
CLUTCH: Mon Purse
SUNGLASSES: Audrey by Céline
For Lunch By the Pool
“Just
popping on a matching sarong is a perfect way to give a bikini that
glamorous look,” says Devin. “Obviously, not high heels, but a little
heel is always really cute. With this look, you can have lunch by the
pool and still look appropriate.”
SUIT: “I’ve always loved the Tulum top for me, because it’s just amazingly supportive for girls with bigger chests,” says Devin. Tulum Top in Ivory by Monday Swimwear.
SARONG: “[This is] a cute sarong that we picked up in a cute shop while in Greece,” says Devin.
SHOES: Suede Eyelet Mid Heel by Zimmermann.
Wrap It Up With a Bow
“We
love wrap tops because they’re super flattering,” says Natasha. “It
looks really cute paired with high-waisted shorts, a long skirt, and a
high-waisted skirt. You can also tie them in the front or into a bow,
rather than wrapping it around, which is really cute, as well.”
HAIR:
“I love beachy, wavy hair,” says Natasha. “You know the Tone It Up
girls, Karena and Katrina? They have their own beach salt hair spray,
which is amazing. We also love the Bumble and Bumble beach spray.”
SUIT: Saint Barth’s Wrap Top in Black by Monday Swimwear.
SKIRT: Las Rayas Distressed Maxi Skirt by the Jetset Diaries.
SUNGLASSES: Bellevue in Black by Sonix X A Bikini A Day.
BAG: Naomi Medium Woven Straw Crossbody by Michael Kors.
BRACELETS: Céline
To Bring Out Your Tan
“A
bright yellow bikini is something that actually looks amazing once
you’ve got a bit of a tan in the middle of summer, and you just want to
have something fun that stands out, rather than just your little black
bikini,” says Natasha.
SUIT: Fiji Top and Le Marais bottom by Monday Swimwear.
SUNGLASSES: Garrett Leight
RINGS:
“If you are by the pool, and are wanting to have a little more of a
chic vibe add some small, dainty accessories,” says Natasha.
BRACELET: Céline (gold), Monaco Vinader (diamond)
To Make That Color Pop
“Everyone
is loving the bright colors and having something that stands out, not
only on the beach,” says Natasha. “It adds that extra element—when you
put that cover-up on and you have the colorful bikini popping through.”
BIKINI: Palma Top in Neon Pink by Monday Swimwear.

BRACELET: Céline (gold), Monica Vinader (diamond)
WATCH: Audemars Piguet
For a Classic Look
“You
can wear a linen shirt not even related to the beach, and just have it
with jeans and a handbag as you go shopping on the weekends,” says
Devin. “It will always have that, sort of classic, beautiful, womanly
feel to it. When wearing it open with a bikini, you can walk up to a
beachside bar or restaurant.”
BIKINI: Fiji Top in Tropic Green by Monday Swimwear.

SANDALS: Gigi Sandals by Sam Edelman.
BRACELET: Céline
NECKLACE: Zoë Chicco
For a Little Support
BIKINI:
“Clovelly Top in Peach is an amazing option for girls with a bigger cup
size or larger bust,” says Devin. “It’s adjustable, over the shoulder,
and it’s a tie back, so you can fully adjust it to your body.”
HAT:
“[This is] a hat that I just picked up in Italy,” says Devin. “We love
to wear hats to protect our face and chest from the sun, but use them as
an element to add a glamorous vibe to our swimwear.”
Favorite Things
DRY OIL: "I love Shimmering Dry Oil by Nuxe Paris,”
says Natasha. “When you wear it on the beach, as you know when you wear
something that has a shimmer in it, it reflects all of your
imperfections, so when you are in the sun, you are like, glowing.”
SUNSCREEN: “The La Mer sunscreen
is the best sunscreen I’ve ever used,” says Natasha. “There are a lot
of times where I’m putting on sunscreens and I feel like I’m just
blocking my pores. It feels horrible and I feel bad for my face, but
this one is just so light.”
MAKEUP COLLECTION:
“Another brand that we’ve used for years is all of the Urban Decay
Naked range,” says Natasha. “Everything is just so good—the eye shadows,
the bronzers, and their lipsticks are all really good.”
LIPSTICK: “I am obsessed with a Bobbi Brown nude lip liner,” says Devin. “I usually just use it with like a little chapstick, and that will be my lip.” “Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick [is my favorite],” says Natasha.
TINTED MOISTURIZER: “Caudalie!” says Devin. “La Mer!” says Natasha.
