Baby Stars in Cardboard Box Remakes of Hollywood Classics

After Leon Mackie, Lilly Lang and their infant Orson packed up and moved to a new country, they found themselves with oodles of cardboard boxes (and time) on their hands.
Enter Cardboard Box Office, the couple's photo blog dedicated to recreating scenes from classic movies using cardboard boxes and other items from around their home. The couple's sweet son stars in the recreated scenes — he's basically the pint-size George Clooney of cardboard Hollywood.
Mackie told Mashable that the idea came together when he and Lang had the idea for a family photo titled "The Life Domestic," based on a scene from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He said their goal was to take a "photo that depicted our new messy and sleep-deprived lives."

Mackie said that the photo garnered a small burst of popularity among friends and family who encouraged the couple to take more. Since Orson seemed to enjoy the photoshoot, Mackie and Lang decided to shoot more.
Their delightful photo series puts Orson at the center of scenes from blockbuster films likeThe Dark Knight, Jurrassic Park and Star Wars. Check out a few of these scenes here, and visitCardboard Box Office for more.

Parody Photoshop Ads Expose Unattainable Beauty Standards

Photoshop-2Beauty advertisements often market products to women that they claim will result in poreless, even-toned and wrinkle-free skin we've seen all our lives on the pages of magazines.
But when it comes down to it, there's only one product on the market that will get us to advertisement-level "perfection." And, unfortunately, it doesn't come in a tube.A new series from North Carolina-based photographer Anna Hill imagines parody advertisments for Adobe Photoshop, the only "beauty product" through which women can achieve otherwise unattainable standards of beauty.
"The inspiration came from years of noticing that many cosmetic ads tend to be so overly manipulated and plastic looking, that I thought they may as well be advertising Photoshop rather than what they're actually marketing," she told Mashable. "I decided to turn that idea into a fun parody project, turning the ads around to make Photoshop the beauty product instead."

Haunting Multiple-Exposure Photos Blend Humans and Nature

Haunting Multiple-Exposure Photos Blend Humans and Nature

Multiple-exposure photography is challenging to perfect, but beautifully eerie when done well. Finnish photographer Christoffer Relander is known for using this technique, blending images of people and objects into single, stunning photos.
For Relander's latest series, titled "We Are Nature Vol. III," the artist created light and airy multiple-exposure portraits blended with natural elements.

He says his background in fine art and graphic design, which he studied in college, has helped shape his current work. He also adds that his current multiple-exposure technique of "patiently reshaping my subjects, playing with textures" developed naturally from earlier experiences with art.

Etsy Artist Creates Custom iPhone Cases With Your Family Portrait

Etsy Artist Creates Custom iPhone Cases With Your Family PortraitIphone cases

When it comes to iPhone cases, some owners want minimalist, bare-bones cases, while others prefer something that reflects their personality.
Those who fall in the latter category may be interested in designs by Etsy creator My Little Buffalo, also known as Lisa Nelson. The Portland-based artist makes custom cases for iPhone users who want to show off their family pride.
Nelson's creations depict families as quirky cartoons, and also include their family name.

To get one of Nelson's personalized cases, which cost $30 each, customers must first purchase a custom family portrait separately. After customers submit a family photo, Nelson sends back a digital file of the portrait. They can then request a case for the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S.
If you absolutely want one of Nelson's cases for Christmas, be sure to order before Dec. 10
